PRO TIP FOR PREETI FONT

The right panel shows your text in Preeti font so you can read Nepali while editing. Copy still gives ASCII keystrokes (e.g. g]kfnL) — paste into Word or Photoshop and set the font to “Preeti” there if needed.

Turn modern Mangal (Unicode) into Preeti font ASCII keys — the format still required by many print shops, design studios, and government offices across Nepal for MS Word, CorelDRAW, and older versions of Photoshop and Illustrator.

Mangal → Preeti

Type नेपाली and get g]kfnL for legacy desktop apps.

Preeti → Mangal

Edit the Preeti panel and Unicode updates automatically.

Print-ready output

Copy Preeti keys, paste in Word, set font to Preeti.

Voice typing

Dictate Nepali on your phone — Unicode fills in and Preeti converts instantly.

Why Nepali Designers Still Need Preeti Font

Nepal's publishing industry grew up on non-Unicode fonts. Local newspapers, wedding card printers in Asan and New Road, flex-board shops, and district-level government offices still keep templates in Preeti, Kantipur, or similar legacy typefaces. If you type modern Unicode into those files, the layout breaks — you need Preeti-encoded characters instead.

Rather than memorising the Preeti keyboard map, type naturally in Unicode (or use voice typing) and let this tool generate accurate Preeti output for invitations, notice boards, official letters, and press releases.

Who uses this in Nepal?

  • Graphic designers preparing banners, pamphlets, and social-media graphics for Nepali clients
  • Students and staff formatting TU, KU, or PU application documents on older lab computers
  • Print shops that have not yet migrated templates to Unicode
  • NGOs and municipalities publishing bilingual notices for local communities
  • Anyone sending Nepali text to someone whose PC only has Preeti installed

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the converted text look like English gibberish?

On this page the Preeti panel renders in the Preeti font so you see Nepali. Copied text is still ASCII keys for Word or Photoshop — select Preeti as the font after pasting if your app shows Latin letters.

Is Preeti the same as Kantipur font?

No — they are different legacy fonts with different character maps. This tool converts to Preeti specifically. If your template uses Kantipur, you may need a Kantipur-compatible converter.

Can I convert from Preeti back to Unicode?

Yes. This page is bidirectional — edit either panel and the other updates. You can also use the dedicated Preeti to Unicode page.

Is this tool free and safe for official documents?

Yes. It is free, runs locally in your browser, and does not upload your text. Safe for government letters, applications, and client work.
