Frequently Asked Questions
Which layout should I learn first?
If you work in government offices or print shops, learn Preeti first. For modern web and digital work, learn Traditional Unicode or Romanized Unicode. Romanized is the easiest to start with if you already know English typing.
What is the difference between "Move & Calc" and "Stop & Correct"?
"Move & Calc" advances to the next character even if you press the wrong key, and marks it as an error. "Stop & Correct" requires you to press the correct key before moving forward — great for building accuracy.
How is WPM calculated?
Words Per Minute (WPM) is calculated as (characters typed / 5) / minutes elapsed. This is the standard measurement used in typing tests worldwide.
Can I use this on my phone?
This tool works best on a desktop or laptop with a physical keyboard. Mobile typing practice is limited since phone keyboards differ from standard layouts.
Is this tool free?
Yes! It is completely free, requires no signup, runs entirely in your browser, and works offline after the initial page load.
